CAPILLARY RHEOMETRY
As opposed to melt flow indexing, capillary rheometry measures many more data points for a more comprehensive view of the polymer. Tests cover shear stress, shear rate, viscosity, and die swell over a range of pressures, temperatures, and forces. As a result, capillary rheometry verifies resin quality in conditions much closer to the polymer process, while remaining a cost-effective small batch QC option.

The LCR7000 is the best solution for comprehensive small-batch quality control and material analysis. The LCR8000 is Dynisco’s newest capillary rheometer platform with a comprehensive set of new features for improved operational safety, performance, and convenience. With an integrated single board computer running Windows 11 and a 22” Monitor, the LCR8000 allows for full machine control and the management of test results without necessitating any external peripherals. Anchorable mounting feet provide additional unit stability in laboratories and plants in seismically active locations, and an overtemperature alarm and cutoff relay prevent damage to the rheometer in the case of runaway heating. The latching mechanism of the swing-out barrel has been significantly improved, and fasteners on the unit have been changed over to their metric equivalents for easier care and maintenance globally. Lastly, the die orifice holder is now recessed into the barrel to ensure that the temperature of the die matches the barrel’s temperature setpoint, further improving accuracy.
